Fall fashion has never looked this vibrant with fall florals; which have made yet another comeback, as one of the season’s top trends.  Gone are the days when a typical winter wardrobe was centred around colours like black, grey, navy  and possibly burgundy or red for a dash of colour.  Over the years, fall/ winter fashion has definitely evolved, breaking away from the  fashion norms once established for the season; and I’m here for it!  The presence of fall florals in fashion adds not only character; but a bit of warmth to the otherwise dreary fall/winter weather.

The Floral Dress for Fall

Fall florals can be likened to a person who is confident in who they are and what they stand for. In essence, it’s a piece that makes a statement, either subtly or boldly depending on how its accessorized.

The floral dress featured in this post, was one of my amazing finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale which I talked more about in a previous post found here.  It was a really good buy, with a price point of about $69CAD at the time of the sale and is from the popular brand ASTR Label.  While this dress is no longer available, here are some that I’ve been eyeing with great price points from Asos, found here and here.

The Accessories

To style this dress I opted for a somewhat subtle look, with the fedora adding just the right amount of spice to complete the look.  The fedora is by the brand Brixton and was purchased at the Mendocino store right here in Toronto.  Their hats are comparably stylish, a good quality and a good price point in comparison other popular brands making fedoras. Currently, I’m eyeing this fedora at Nordstrom Rack for just Under $25USD by Brixton, which you can check out right here and this black fedora, also by Brixton at Nordstrom found here.  

The shoes worn are one of my favourite sandals by Vince Camuto; a great transitional shoe that visibly isn’t quite far off from the trending peep toe bootie.  Alternately, you could style this dress with booties for more warmth, depending on the weather.  Check out some of my favourite bootie picks of the season found here at Nordstrom and these tan peep booties on sale at Saks Off Fifth found here for only $40USD.

For jewelry, I opted for layered gold necklaces and large gold hoops  which have been my go to lately since I big chopped.  With short hair, I’ve been told either you go bold or go home.  The large gold hoops are from Aldo accessories, and are your typical universal hoops.  I’ve linked some of my favourite jewelry items down below at great price points, so be sure to click through  to the end of the widget so you don’t miss out.
