As the summer rolls around, I urge you all to spruce up your work wear by adding some colour and doing away with the blacks and greys.  You’d be surprised to find out how colour can affect your mood, as instinctively we tend to associate colours with certain feelings and things.  Interior designers use colour to create different moods in different rooms, so why not add colour to your work wardrobe, to positively enhance your mood in the office. 

Believe it or not, there was once a time that my wardrobe consisted of “safe colours,” such as blacks, greys, browns and maybe a pastel pink here and there, and some white and that was it; I kid you not!  Funny enough, I thought my wardrobe was pretty smoking, until one day an old friend of mine commented on my wardrobe; highlighting the lack of colour, which I of course refuted (insert side eye here).  Now years later, with a strong intent to prove them wrong, my wardrobe consists mainly of colour, and I can truly say that wearing colour does have a positive effect on my mood and personality; as I am more sociable and confident, which are great personality traits for the office.

If you tend to shy away from colour, I challenge you to break that habit and live a little.  Renew your mindset, and tell your self that you can wear colour, as a matter of fact tell your self that you can do anything.  The greatest obstacle we face when trying to achieve anything in life is our mindset.  If you can conquer that lingering negative thought, that tells you, you can’t you’re well on your way to making major moves in life.
