There are several ways that you can stylishly wear a kimono with many of the basics that you currently have in your closet; if you’re in doubt, I suggest that you keep reading. Kimonos are one of my favourite summer trends notably because of its functionality for many different occasions. With the sunny vacation season upon us, it is the perfect item to pack, as you can use it to transition any of your outfit looks from day to night. Here are several other ways that you can stylishly wear a kimono all summer long:
- You can pair your kimono with shorts as seen here on Twenties Girl Style.
- Wear it simply as a dress or over a bodycon dress as seen on Toronto blogger Simply Shantel and Gigi Hadid.
- You can also wear it over your favourite swimwear for that perfect beach cover up, as seen here on Sequins & Things.
Should you choose to add the kimono to your summer wardrobe, you are guaranteed at least 4 outfit options, including this current outfit post.
For today’s look, I’ve chosen to go casual and have paired this beautiful ornate kimono from Forever 21 (only $30.90 CAD) with distressed denim, a simple white tank, comfy flat sandals with gold detailing; accessorizing it with a fuschia envelope clutch from Aldo, $15 shades from Nordstrom and a black and gold lace-up choker with tassels that was under $15. This look is perfect for those backyard summer barbeques with family and friends, long weekends at the cottage or those cool summer days and nights strolling by the waterfront; as you can see the options are endless. For a night time look this outfit can be paired with these strappy heeled sandals which are a great summer staple.
