Though a bit delayed, wedding season is here and in full effect. The looming uncertainty of the pandemic has however altered people’s scope on spending and a budget conscious mindset has now taken precedence. With that in mind I am happy to share some affordable bridesmaid dress options; so you and your friends won’t have to break the bank when celebrating love this season.
About this Affordable Bridesmaid Dress Option
The dress pictured is from Asos (Shop Here) and was worn as a bridesmaid dress for a friend’s wedding not too long ago. The wedding was quite small and intimate, and I was the only female in the bridal party. Given the autonomy to choose my own dress with a few style restrictions, I wanted to shy away from your typical bridesmaid dress and instead opted for a style that was more versatile. These days, I’m all about functionality, as over the years, I’ve collected more than a few bridesmaid dresses that were an obvious one-time wear with a high price tag. This dress was however under $50 CAD and is currently on sale with additional colours and lengths, talk about win win!
What stood out for me was the flow and movement of the dress coupled with the beautiful yet subtle pink colour. I particularly loved the simplicity and girly feel of this style. It is a faux wrap dress with a side zipper and fluttery cape-like sleeves. From behind it mimics the length of a midi dress however the front is a bit shorter, giving you that high-low look. In this style, I am currently wearing a US size 6 or UK 10 and found that the fit at the top part of the dress to be quite exact with no additional wiggle room so it may not be the best option for my ladies with a larger chest; sizing up could be an option as well. Overall, I am quite happy with this dress as I can see myself additionally wearing it to a bridal shower, as a wedding guest dress, to a baby shower, church or even a tea party – the options are endless. It also came in a multitude of colours and lengths to compliment any of your fall or summer wedding colour schemes and styles. Dark and light colours, short, midi or maxi lengths are all available in this style – talk about versatility!
