I remember when the trend “high-waisted” entered the fashion scape. From the fashion runways the concept looked great, but experience has taught me to be cautious of Runway looks; as tall slender models make everything look great. Without seeing the concept, I would have imagined a look much similar to ‘Steve Urkle’s’ usual style, which isn’t really my cup of tea. Now fast forward to years later and everyone is sporting the “high-waisted” trend. Looking back, I wonder how I ever managed life without it, but in the world of fashion and life in general; everything has its place and time. If you haven’t welcomed high-waisted pants into your life. This post will school you on why high-waisted pants are needed in your wardrobe.

The Benefits of High-Waisted Pants

When shopping for pants I now habitually reach for high-waisted pants for a number of reasons which I’ll share below:

1. The style eliminates the dreaded muffin top.  Ladies you know what I’m talking about! Because of the height at which it sits, there’s no spilling over of flesh at the sides.  Not only does it give you a better fit, but they’re more comfortable as well.
2. It cinches the waist, giving the appearance of a smaller waist-line which every woman can appreciate.  If the style supports a belt, be sure to add one for a more stylishly cinched waist.
3. It elongates the legs, presenting a beautiful silhouette. To maximize this feature be sure to add heels to your look.
4. All in all, they are quite versatile to style, and can be styled with a bodysuit like the look featured in this post or with blouse tucked in or out – depending on the style.
